If you are looking for ways to make money, and you are starting to feel frustrated, don’t worry. You are far from alone. There are a lot of people looking for a way to make more money. When you are struggling to get the bills paid, or you feel a desperate need to move to a better neighborhood or leave a job you hate, the feeling you get is extremely uncomfortable. Unfortunately, people start doing desperate things when they feel like that. These folks are the ones who convince themselves that plunking down a couple of hundred bucks on a get rich quick product somehow makes sense. If you have been running into those obnoxious ads filled with photos of internet marketing gurus standing on beaches with their perfect families, don’t run off and buy anything just yet. I know it is tempting. They have professional copywriters working for them to make you feel like you absolutely must have their product NOW. Please read what you will find here first. It will save you time, money and aggravation. It will also point you toward some legitimate ways to make money that might not be instant, but will be a lot more likely to last than following the latest and greatest “opportunity” you come across.

There are ways to make money online.  I am doing it now.  This post is pretty long, and I’d like to think that it has some very valuable information it it for people looking for ways to make money.  With that said, I realize that many people will never read more than the first few paragraphs. For those people, I have one quick piece of advice. Find someone who is succeeding in what you want to do, and then follow their formula. There is really no need to reinvent the wheel. There are successful people all around you. How did they get there? I personally have found a couple of very good guides in two gentlemen named Mark Butler and Courtney Tuttle. After bouncing around the Internet for quite some time, I eventually was directed toward their information at The Keyword Academy and decided to try out the methods they suggested. I learned a lot.  They are very big on the concept of not handing out BS. They never promised me anything but an education when I arrived there. What they did was over-deliver in a massive way.

What I liked most about the place from the beginning is the fact that they never made any ridiculous claims and I never felt like I needed to attach a chain to my wallet. NOBODY wants to get scammed. I spent a lot of money before I found Court and Mark’s site. I understand how wary you can get after being ripped off. Right before I found the Keyword Academy, I had shelled out something like $100 on a program that was supposed to make me money by having a people searcher on it. I never saw a dime from it. I didn’t realize at the time what kind of outrageous competition there was for that niche. I felt extremely stupid for that one. I not only paid for the “program”, I also followed their affiliate link and purchased a new hosting plan through them for another hundred bucks. That was the last time I purchased any type of offer that promised fast money. The fact is, there are probably a lot of people reading this page and not following the links I am providing because they figure they are being led to a scam. All I can say is, it isn’t a scam. The site will teach you how to build a low maintenance stream of income by producing quality sites that others will find useful. They will not try to upsell you or trick you. Best of all, you will get access to the best suite of tools I’ve ever come across. You don’t know me from a cake of soap, but I’m telling you honestly, it is worth a visit.

I firmly believe that a HUGE part of being able to make money online or anywhere else is starting out with the right mind set. I found this video and thought it was pretty interesting.

So, what about this site? I started the Ways to Make Money Blog because I’m interested in the subject and I wanted to give a simple explanation of some of the ways you can make money online. You will not find any promises of fast ways to make money (with the exception of eBay selling). My goal is to point people to legitimate ways to make extra money online.  I have just done that in the paragraph above, by the way. I realize that the first part of this post sounds like I’m making a commercial, and I apologize for that, but I simply cannot stress enough that if you have been looking for legitimate guidance in ways to make money, this is it.

Lately, I’ve been noticing more and more people as they complain about how much they hate their jobs and how unappreciated they feel by their employers. I’m always torn about whether or not I should say something to them when I don’t really know them. I’ve actually thought about making up business cards with this site listed on them so I could just hand them to people, but I don’t know how they would react. Lately I have also felt the need to give something back. Now that I feel pretty comfortable with building profitable websites, I’d like to help other people to learn to do the same thing. The problem with that though, is that when I tell people what I do, they either think that it is way too complicated (it isn’t), or they think I’m going to try to sell them on some type of multi level marketing scam (I’m not). I guess a lot of people are wary because they can’t believe that someone would actually just give them useful information. The truth is, I was feeling pretty much like that until I came across a website by a gentleman known as Grizz a couple of years ago. I learned a ton from what he wrote and he never charged me, or anyone else who read his blogs, a cent. He is actually the one who pointed me toward The Keyword Academy when he decided to take a hiatus from writing for a while.

I told a couple friends about affiliate marketing recently. For anyone who might not know, this is simply getting a commission for telling people about the benefits and drawbacks of a product (like a review) and then pointing them toward a site that sells the product (like Amazon). If the person you sent ends up making a purchase within certain amount of time, you get a commission from the sale. Even though I’ve told my friends about the specific products I promote, they still doubt me and won’t give it a shot. Go figure. I like these types of sites because it is relatively easy to build one around something that genuinely interests you. If you have an interest in golfing, make up a site based on a keyword phrase about golf. You could write about the various clubs and golf balls that you have tried over time. Include an Amazon affiliate link to the products you liked in your post. If someone follows one of them and buys something on Amazon, you get a commission. How easy is that? Really, using sites based on WordPress is as easy as using a word processor. Why in the world wouldn’t you do it?

It is a little bit sad watching people who just won’t listen to what I’ve learned. I am coming to believe that you really have to be able to see yourself succeeding if you want it to happen. I don’t want to start sounding all “new agey”, but it just makes sense to me that your brain is going to direct you toward what you focus on in your life. If you spend your time focusing on how terrible your lot in life is or spouting off to anyone who will listen about the latest person who offended you, how can you expect any kind of positive change or progress to happen for you? To be honest, I get just a little bit frustrated and sad when I hear the same people that I love and care about complaining about the same things over and over and not taking action to change anything (you know who you are). Even though they see me succeeding, they don’t take action in their own lives. One of my favorite quotes is attributed to a pretty bright guy named Einstein…

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

If you want to change your circumstances, you cannot keep doing the same things you have been doing. Seriously, that seems like such common sense, but sometimes we just don’t get. I include myself here because I’ve taken this approach to exercise and eating right for years! I know that if I keep eating the same stuff, I won’t lose weight, but even though I know I’ll feel better later, it is more “comfortable” to not take action (only in the short term though).

People do this with money and building an online presence. They hate their jobs or they feel like they are not getting anywhere, but they don’t do anything to provide themselves with better options. They talk themselves out of doing anything before they even try. They say that they are too old, they don’t know anything about computers or the internet, or selling things. (The truth is none of that matters at all, REALLY.) Sometimes they say that they are too busy. Then, five years later, instead of having much better circumstances for themselves and their families, they just have five years of being miserable to look back on and a future going down the same track. How depressing is that? Listen, when I started this, I did it with a full time job and three kids. My main strategy to make time was not watching television at night. In the evening, after the kids went to bed, I started getting things done. Was it tough? Sometimes. Am I glad I did it? VERY! Would I do it again? Yep. No doubt.

I hope this doesn’t offend too many people, but here is the cycle I see over and over.
1. People I know start complaining about things like not having any money, hating their job, etc.

2. I tell them that they could start working at building up an online business, and go on to explain the various ways to make money online. I explain in a step by step manner what to do, the best resources to check and sign up for, and so on. I explain what I have done myself to start making money and what I have seen many other people do, who had little or no experience with anything at all online. I try my best to explain the best ways to make money online using methods that will ensure a quality product that is built to last in the long term.

3. They nod and say that they should really do that.

4. I see them a month or two later and they are still talking about the same situations and how miserable they are. I ask them if they tried anything I told them about, and they list 50 reasons why they didn’t get around to it. To be honest, it is a tiring pattern, and it gets difficult to muster any sympathy for them after a while. Not just because they didn’t listen to me, but because they haven’t done anything at all to make a change. They are doing the same things and expecting different results.

Forgive me for being blunt, but it seems sometimes that these people I know are more invested in being able to complain to others about their circumstances than they are in making changes. If I say this to them, it sometimes gets them upset with me, but I honestly believe that if you are willing to take action, and not just talk about it, you can make massive changes in your life. The people following this pattern don’t really seem to want help, guidance or advice. They want a magic wand that will suddenly make them rich or make everything better for them. There are plenty of people looking for ways to sell them just such a miraculous item. They know that most people are impatient. They want to know how to make money fast, without having to do any work. They want to learn how to make money from home, but they start out with an image of an ATM spitting twenty dollar bills at them in their living room. It just doesn’t work like that.

There is bad news for anyone looking for easy, instant money and solutions. They could spend the rest of their lives clicking all over the Internet looking for that magic wand. Along the way, they will probably give hundreds of dollars to “magic wand salesmen” and come away disappointed. That is what many people do. They pay some outrageous amount of money for a variety of “get rich” programs that promise to make them money in a month. There are pictures of perfect looking families standing on tropical beaches because *this* program allows them to take trips and spend unlimited time with their families. Who wouldn’t want that? It starts to look like a bargain for $197 (or whatever they happen to be charging for that particular package). Whenever those amazing programs don’t pan out, the folks who bought them decide that the whole “making money online thing” is bogus. Even if you don’t visit The Keyword Academy, at least learn something from this article. If anyone promises you super fast money in any kind of internet marketing endeavor, be very wary. Also, don’t trust all reviews of the “program” you are considering, because you will very likely just be finding well placed review articles that are filled with affiliate links that are there to make someone money for the referral.

Listen to me if you are in the pattern I just described. What I am telling you about is NOT any kind of instant money program. It is a site that teaches you how to build legitimate online income that will last. It offers advice, videos and some pretty amazing tools to make things a lot easier for you, but it is still going to involve work on your part to get things started. This can be your map to getting a new start… Visit The Keyword Academy and sign up for the FREE MONTH. If you don’t like what you see there, move on and keep looking for what is right for you. Be warned again that you will have to do work, and there are no instant riches promised… but it can still be very much worth it. This is the only such site I have ever found and it is the only such program I endorse on this site.

On a light note for a second… Maybe I’m just not sensitive enough. If you haven’t seen this video, please watch it. It does a pretty good job of expressing how I feel sometimes when I tell people exactly what they need to do in order to get themselves started on a much more productive path and they just won’t even try (plus I just really like this commercial and wanted a reason to include it!).

It is very possible to build a comfortable income online with some persistence. But it is extremely important to understand from the beginning of any money making venture that you have to provide quality, you have to have patience, and you absolutely must be willing to work for what you want to achieve. If you are not willing to accept those three principles, you might as well head to Vegas, because you will just be flushing your time and money down the toilet as you chase BS promises of instant riches. If you don’t want to read this whole article now, or if you want very basic instructions for getting started, check out The Keyword Academy and then come back.

If you are on a search to find ways to make money online, be warned. There are thousands of places that are little more than traps just waiting for you. The simple fact is that people have been looking for ways to make more money for as long as money has existed. There are a LOT of people who have realized this and who have learned to exploit this weakness of our human character. If you have ever received email for one money making venture after another from the same “guru”, you have witnessed this first hand. For most people, the promise of instant money and the easy life is almost irresistible. On top of that, our society today has trained us to want everything NOW. The promise of instant success and money without any real work is just too much for some people to resist.

The truth is, you can make money online, but just like in the “real world” it will take effort on your part. There is no instant solution. Programs that promise to fill your pockets with cash instantly are just not worth your time or money. If the program really made the money promised, WHY in the world would the people selling it be bothering with piddling $67 sales pages aimed at YOU???

Use some common sense and see if this sounds at all familiar. Did you ever notice that before they let you check out with their products, most marketers try to upsell you to another product that usually costs at least another hundred bucks? If you say no to that, they try to downsell you to something extra that “only” costs an extra thirty dollars. It seems to me that they make their money by selling their money making product, not by using actually using it.

Do you want the formula for making money online? I’ll save you a lot of time and money right here and right now. This is the quick version, and it assumes that you’ve already got a bit of knowledge about keyword research and the like. For details on that, check the free info at The Keyword Academy. Pay attention…

1. Find something that people want. It could be a product, service, or even just information. Use your imagination or check out sites like Amazon or eBay. They make tons of money every day. They also both happen to conveniently have affiliate programs for people who would like to make money with websites (like you). Do a bit of research to find a keyword phrase related to that product. Make sure that it has acceptable traffic and levels of competition.

2. Make sure that there is traffic for that product. Use the Google Adwords tool (set to exact) or some other tool of choice to find out roughly how many people look for that item on Google every month. You probably don’t want to bother with anything with a search volume of less than at least 1000.

3. Check the competition. There are different ways to go about this. One way is to look at the strength of the pages currently listed at the top of Google for your search term. That would mean checking out their page rank and how many links they have pointed at them with relevant anchor text. Other people look for the number of competing pages indexed in Google. You’ll have to decide which method you are comfortable using.

4. Build a website based on your winning keyword phrase(s). Alternately, if you don’t mind the wait, you could throw up a quality page at Hubpages, get some links pointed at it, and see if it draws traffic before spending ten bucks on a domain. I personally just go for the domains I like when I find them.

5. Drive traffic to the site by doing the work necessary to get yourself ranking at the top of Google. You want Google’s search engine traffic. A lot of people push getting social traffic, but honestly, social traffic rarely spends money. People who want to buy something usually check Google, not StumbleUpon.

You might choose to go with affiliate marketing, Adsense, or some other means of monetization, but that is the basic formula. Pretty simple right? Yes and no. The tricky part is finding the winning keyword phrases, building legitimate quality sites that search engines like, and getting links to the site so that search engines (think Google) rank you at the top of their first page.

This is the point where people get lazy and greedy. They see sales letters promising top Google positions in a month. Really? In case you haven’t noticed, the people who run Google aren’t stupid. They spend TONS of money hiring the top minds they can find and then they work to keep them happy. Do you really think that they don’t know about the cheesy products that throw up thousands upon thousands of garbage links buried in barely readable content on throw-away social blogs all within a week’s time? Google wants to provide searchers with what they are looking for. Their business model absolutely depends on that. If you build a website that gives people what they want, and then manage to get other sites pointing to it over a bit of time, your patience will be rewarded. Will you be working to get those coveted links? Yep. Will it happen over night? Nope. Is the effort worth it? Yep.

I hope that you will keep stopping by to read more about ways to make money. If you are interested in learning more about the topic, you can get more free information and access to some great resources at The Keyword Academy. It is by far the most valuable resource I’ve found for making money online.

OK. So let’s assume you are serious about making money online. Who is it exactly who wants to do this thing called internet marketing? There are entrepreneurs, who want to be their own bosses and break free of the corporate world, and there are also people who are OK with having a boss, but they are searching for those elusive online jobs they have read about. You know the ones I mean. They work for a large company, but they get to stay home and work from there while they collect fat pay checks. I personally don’t know a whole lot of people who have managed to land that kind of job, and that isn’t what I’ll be concentrating on with this blog. I imagine that to qualify for that type of position, you probably need some pretty hefty qualifications. Rather, I’ll be focusing on how to make money on the internet by establishing a website or websites that focus on some underserved market and then giving them what they are looking for online. The nice thing about this approach is that you don’t really need any type of specialized training. If you have some type of passion that you enjoy and would like to write about, that can help, but it isn’t a total necessity by any means. Making money shouldn’t be about trying to trick anyone. It should be about providing quality and meeting a need. If you are willing to do some research and provide quality information and/or products for people, you can do fine with this approach.

There is a chance that you already know something about internet marketing if you have found this site but there is also a good chance that you are just starting out and you just want to know how to make money fast. Maybe you are not necessarily in a huge hurry, but you hate your job (or can’t find a job) and you want to make money from home. There are all kinds of reasons that people start exploring money making ideas. I think that in general, it is safe to say that most people would prefer to not have a boss telling them what to do as they look over their shoulder, so that is probably something that every visitor to this site will have in common. Make no mistake, some people are OK with working for other people. They like to complain just like everyone else, but they don’t have something in them driving them to move outside of their little box. I think that the people who actually pursue the idea of making money online are just wired a little bit differently. I think that we are the people who always have ideas spinning in our minds and want to try things out. Doing the same mindless routines day after day at the command of others just does not sit well with us. I can’t speak for anyone else, the I have had ideas turning in my head for years about how to make money in new and different ways. I’ve tried many different methods, and I’ve got to say that I’ve probably enjoyed learning how to make money online the most.

Please note that I AM am offering affiliate links to The Keyword Academy here because I believe in what they offer. If you decide to stay after your free 30 days, (for what I think is a very low price), I will get a commission. I hope you will follow my links, but even if you don’t, please visit the site. If you are serious about making changes and learning about the possible ways to make money online, I believe it is the best starting point I have ever found.
