Ways to Make Money-SEO Born Again

I’ve decided to dig this ways to make money blog back up and dust it off after leaving it buried for a while under the thousands upon thousands of ways to make money websites out there.  You see, I’ve sort of been born again in terms of internet marketing looking for ways to make money online.  I had fallen into the trap of social marketing.  It was a very well disguised trap, but a very sticky web nonetheless.  I had followed the scent of “work from home part time jobs” and “stay at home jobs.”  I have now seen the light of SEO on the internet and have decided that social traffic just isn’t worth the effort for me.  Hey, there’s nothing wrong with it if you want to be popular.  I just don’t have any interest in posting ten times a day if I’m not making money out of it.

A few years ago, I knew nothing of SEO or” search engine optimization” – for any new folks who might stumble across this page.  I just knew that I wanted to try to find a way to make a few extra bucks to help out my family.  I came across a very amiable bunch when I found a video for a certain “free” challenge that was taking place.  What I had actually found was a pre-launch sales video, but more on that later.  Actually, to be fair, I learned a lot there.  I picked up some basics on affiliate marketing and selling online.  I only recently became disenchanted by their constant sales pitches since they’ve gone “premium.”

Anyway, I followed all of the happy little breadcrumbs down the social path and learned to Stumble and Twitter and Digg along with everyone else.  It even brought some traffic.  It was non-clicking, worthless traffic, but just about any traffic looks good to someone who is brand new and has never made money from a website.

I actually liked this little challenge so much that I did it two years in a row.  Never made a cent on it by the way.  During the second time through, things felt a little bit different.  Services started being offered that cost money and if you didn’t choose to take advantage of these services, you were left to figure things out on your own.  The lights started to flash yellow and then red in my mind because I had been burned previously (several times actually) by purchasing scam make money online products.  Sadly, I was pretty much correct.  Yet another guru had decided that I looked to good to pass up despite promises of free information.  I even dropped twenty bucks to subscribe to their “plus” service for part of a month.  After reading and listening to what was offered and wading through more chances to upgrade various items in my mailbox, I opted out to check out some  free ways to make money.
